In a shocking incident that unfolded on January 29, 2024, suspected Fulani herdsmen armed with sophisticated weapons launched a brutal attack on three prominent Kings in the Ajoni Local Council Development Area (LCDA) Division, Ayedun-Ekiti.

The victims include the Elesun of Esun Ekiti in Ikole Local Government, the Alara of Ara Ekiti in Ikole Local Government, and the Onimojo of Imojo Ekiti in Oye Local Government.

Tragically, the Elesun of Esun Ekiti and the Onimojo of Imojo Ekiti lost their lives as they valiantly resisted the kidnappers. The Alara of Ara Ekiti narrowly escaped the assailants without sustaining injuries.

The deceased monarchs have been transported to the mortuary at the General Hospital in Ikole Ekiti, marking a somber chapter in the history of the region.

The police have launched an investigation into the incident, with residents expressing shock and outrage over the audacious attack on traditional leaders.
