German Bundesliga Week 10 Preview

BAYERN MUNICH VS LEIPZIG

Right after Bayern Munich’s victory over Leipzig in the german cup, both sides clash again on saturday in the bundesliga.

German giants Bayern Munich host RB Leipzig at the Allianz Arena on Saturday in a match that could put either side top of the table.

Bayern and Leipzig sit second and third in the Bundesliga table after nine games, with Borussia Dortmund only above Bayern on goal difference.

The two sides last met on Wednesday in the DFB Cup, with the game finishing 1-1 AET and Bayern winning the game 5-4 on penalties.

Whilst Leipzig began with a tepid start to this season, with poor defeats at Schalke and Augsburg, they seem to have put themselves on the right track, last week achieving their first ever Champions League win, beating Porto 2-1.

Leaders Dortmund travel to Hannover, Leverkusen host Cologne and Moenchengladbach are the guest of Hoffenheim.

HANNOVER 96 VS BORUSSIA MOENCHENGLADBACH

First-placed Borussia Dortmund will aim to keep their leader position as they faced Hannover at HDI Arena. As the hosts are sitting in the top six Bosz’s side will have a difficult task in defending their position, especially as Bayern Munich are breathing at their necks with the same point count.

The hosts are enjoying their returning season in Bundesliga since they occupy the sixth position with 15 points accumulated. Hannover finally concluded their winless run last weekend as they surprised FC Augsburg at WWK Arena with 1-2.

Hannover were busy during the midweek as they faced VfL Wolfsburg in DFB Pokal. They were beaten by the Wolves and the minimal victory they endured might influence their motivation ahead of the important match on Saturday.

The visitors will be aiming to conclude their negative run at HDI Arena. The recent 0-5 triumph in DFB Pokal might help, but Dortmund are certainly not the same team from the start of the season.

It is safe to say that the recent tie with APOEL had a negative impact on the mood in the locker room, but Dortmund have been underachieving in Bundesliga too as they are winless in the last two rounds.

BVB clinched the victory in four out of last five outings with Hannover. They also won the last three matches at HDI Arena scoring 10 goals in the process.
