G.O.A.T: Messi honoured with life-size statue, ‘Baton of Football’

The Greatest of all Time football player, Lionel Messi has been honoured with ‘The Baton of Football’ along with a lifesize statue of himself.

The Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star was presented this honour by the President of the Organisation for Soccer in South America (CONMEBOL), Alejandro Dominguez, in the La Noche De Las Estrellas event held by the CONMEBOL on Monday night.

The life-size statue of Messi will reside in the headquarters of CONMEBOL in Asunción, Paraguay.

Reacting to the honour, a fulfilled Messi expressed his gratitude to God and CONMEBOL and revealed that he has won what he had been missing.

“I’m fulfilled with this; it was what I was missing. Thank God I got everything in football. I keep these cups in the museum at home. Thanks to CONMEBOL for this tribute to us,” he said.

Messi becomes the 3rd person in the history of football to receive The Baton of Football award and a statue after Pele the Great and Argentine’s Maradona.
