Veteran stage and screen actress, Sola Awojoji Onayiga has passed away.
It was gathered that the accomplished thespian died in the early hours of Monday. Details about the actual cause of her death are, however, sketchy at the time of filing this report.
Onayiga featured in several movies and TV series in her acting career. She was best known for playing the character, Ireti in the popular family sitcom, Fuji House of Commotion.
She gained prominence for her appearance in the defunct soap opera, Checkmate. She also played the role of Madam Philo in BBC’s Story, Story – Voices From The Market Place.
In the 2015 elections, she contested for the Lagos State House of Assembly seat in Ikorodu Constituency 1, under the platform of Social Democratic Party (SDP).
