Foremost industrialist and founder of Onward Paper Mills makers of the legendary exercise books Onward Notebook, Chief M. Obagun is dead.
The industrialist who pioneered paper conversion and manufacturing of top quality paper products in Nigeria died in the early hours of Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at the age of 91.
According to reliable sources, the Epe-born business magnate was buried the same day.
The parent body that metamorphosed into OPM, Onward Stationery Stores was founded in 1953 by the late Chief M. Obagun then the company concentrated on buying and selling papers to make ends meet. In 1972, he incorporated Onward Paper Mill Ltd as the first indigenous paper converter to manufacture and market top quality stationery in Nigeria.
Late Chief Obagun was born in Poka, Epe of Lagos State and is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and siblings.
