Five Time Champions, 3SC Alongside Three NPFL New Boys Head Back To The NNL

Five time Nigeria Professional football League Champions, Shooting stars of Ibadan Was The high ranking casualty to fail to beat the drop and will now follow NPFL new boys, Remo Stars, Abubakar Bukola Saraki FC and Gombe united to the Nigeria National League.

Shooting Stars are not new to the NNL as they were relegated from the Nigeria premier league in 2006 only to stage a comeback three years later.
Remo Stars unarguably Was The most abysmal side of them all, the fact that the team lost at home to Sunshine stars of Akure of the final day of the league season is a testimony to that assertion.

Gombe United also gained promotion to the NPFL in the 2017 season and they also lost their last game of the season at home to Wikki Tourist of Bauchi who needed all three points to beat the drop.

The Saraki Babes looked like the team to beat but in a league where 50 points will not guarantee your safety they could have giving more than the gave.

It will be exciting to see how the new NNL south west team will battle the like Ikorodu united, Gateway FC and a host of others relegated NPFL team for the 2019 NPFL qualifying ticket.
