The Supreme Court building located at the Three Arms Zone in Abuja is currently engulfed in flames.

At the time of this report, the fire has already ravaged the offices of at least three justices, with no signs of containment.

Eyewitnesses have reported that the fire broke out in the early hours of Monday, sending plumes of smoke billowing from the iconic judicial institution.

A significant section of the Supreme Court building complex has been affected, leaving the nation in shock.

The timing of this devastating fire is particularly concerning, as the apex court was on the verge of resuming its sessions to hear appeals filed by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP) regarding the outcome of the previous Presidential elections.

These appeals challenged the victory of President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Notably, both opposition parties had previously lost their cases at the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal and had turned to the Supreme Court as their last recourse to contest the legitimacy of President Tinubu’s victory.
