FG promises to reward Super Eagles for reaching AFCON final

The Federal Government has promised to reward the Super Eagles for beating South Africa to reach the final of the ongoing African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

The Nigerian side beat the 10-man Bafana Bafana 4-2 on penalties in the semi-final on Wednesday night.

In reaction, Nigeria’s Vice President Vice President who was present at the game to cheer the Super Eagles promised that the government will reward the players for their feat.

The Super Eagles made this known in a statement on its X handle on Thursday.

”The Federal Government has promised to reward the Super Eagles for their commitment and dedication in reaching the final of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivore,” the statement read in part.

“Vice President Kashim Shettima told the players and their officials in the dressing room, following their hard-fought victory over South Africa in the semi finals on Wednesday, that the government and people of Nigeria are proud of their accomplishment.”
