In Fayose’s absence, Kayode Fayemi sworn in as Ekiti Governor

Dr. Kayode Fayemi has been sworn in as the Ekiti state Governor. This is coming three months after defeating the outgoing deputy governor of the state, Prof. Kolapo Olusola (Eleka) in a suspense filled election which saw Governor Ayo Fayose come all out for Eleka.

At a ceremony at the Olukayode Stadium, Kayode Fayemi who is being sworn in alongside his deputy, Bisi Egbeyemi promised transparency in his government while thanking the people of Ekiti for giving him a second chance to govern them.

Conspicuously missing at the swearing in was the outgoing governor, Ayo Fayose who has earlier revealed that he will be honouring an invitation from EFCC today.

The governors of Ondo, Ogun, Lagos, Kaduna and Osun were also present

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu led the ruling party to the event which also had the presence of immediate past party chairman, John Oyegun as well as the governors of Lagos, Oyo, Ogun, Ondo, Kaduna among others.
Fayemi who until recently was the Minister of Solid Mineral and Development also promised to transform the educational, tourism, agricultural and infrastructural problems of the state.
