Father’s Day: Note To The man called Joseph Ogunyiriubor Kabiri

Father’s Day: Note To The man called Joseph Ogunyiriubor Kabiri

I don’t even know where to start to appreciate you, with a grateful heart to God, I am so glad he made me your son. I have learnt a lot from you, it is from you I imbibed the never depend on anyone from spirit. I learnt the “you are on your own” mantra. Your story and how you survived a polygamous home being the only son of your mother and how everyone thought nothing good can come out of you is one major thing that drives me daily; the fact that you used your school fees to marry back your mother after she was sent out of her husband’s house which made you abandon school to learn a trade is a reason why I had to make sure I graduated from the university.

I remember when I failed at the University of Ibadan and you were very sad and told me how hopeful you were of me and how I let you down, I immediately obtained another jamb form to gain admission into the Lagos state university where I excelled and made a good name for myself and you.

Every day I pray to God for you to live longer and enjoy the fruit of your hustle, the trekking from Fadeyi to Folagoro road, the trekking from Ojota to Ogudu on a regular basis because you want to save money to buy foodstuffs, sometimes you have even trekked from Onipanu to Ogudu because you didn’t have transport fare home. Papa you hustled o, and that spirit of never say die grow in me and I am sure you are proud of me at this moment and I am promising by the grace of God to do more.

I don’t want you to die before I tell you how much you mean to me and how much I love you, I have that very soft spot for you dad and I will do anything to make you happy by the special grace of God.

HAPPY FATHERS DAY Elder Kabiri Joseph Ogunyiriubor Amamuchechi from your son, Jerry Kabiri.
