The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed a fatal crash that occurred at approximately 05:11 am.

The accident involved four vehicles, leaving one person injured and two others tragically dead.

According to Florence Okpe, the spokesperson for FRSC in Ogun State, the vehicles involved in the crash included a white Volvo trailer with registration number T-14223LA, a yellow Volkswagen bearing the mark KRD132XX, and two Bajaj motorcycles with number plates LAR178VL and PKA873VS.

The three individuals involved in the accident comprised two male adults and one female adult.

Regrettably, one male adult lost his life, as did one female adult, while another male adult sustained injuries.

The preliminary investigation suggests that the collision was caused by wrongful overtaking and excessive speeding on the part of the truck driver.

This recklessness resulted in a catastrophic collision with one of the motorcycles, triggering a subsequent crash involving the Volkswagen vehicle and the other motorcycle.

The bodies of the deceased victims have been transferred to the Ifo General Hospital morgue, where they will await identification and further procedures.

Anthony Uga, the Ogun FRSC Sector Commander, has issued a stern warning to motorists, emphasizing the importance of defensive driving and consideration for other vehicles on the road.

He stressed the need for drivers to adhere to the prescribed speed limits, with heartfelt condolences extended to the families of the victims.
