Family Suspects Medical Negligence in Death of First-Class Graduate in Rivers

The family of Rebecca Sekidika, a first-class graduate from Rivers State has said that medical negligence caused the death of their daughter.

Rebecca died on February 2, 2024 after a routine medical checkup at Paragon Clinics and Imaging Diagnostics in Port Harcourt.

According to the family, Rebecca, aged 24, had visited the clinic for what was supposed to be a minor procedure.

However, within a short span of time, she was pronounced dead in the clinic’s theatre.

The family has therefore said it suspected medical negligence in the events leading up to her death and is demanding answers.

As gathered, the authorities in the state have also launched an investigation into Rebecca’s death, with a focus on determining the circumstances surrounding the incident.
