Family Builds Over Rail Track In Abia State, Claims Government Abandoned Infrastructure (See Picture)

In a striking development at Abia Line Motor Park in Umuahia, Abia State, a family has constructed a building directly on a rail track where no train has passed for 30 years.

Sources report that the Nigerian Railway Corporation neglected the track, redirecting its attention to other regions while plans to resume operations in the South East remain pending.

Prompted by a viral online image, investigations revealed the structure was built during Senator T.A. Orji’s tenure as Governor of Abia State by Mr. Ugochukwu Uwaeke according to a report.

The building, now a permanent fixture complete with a roof and walls, stands mere inches from the disused tracks.

The situation highlights ongoing challenges in managing infrastructure and raises concerns about safety and future railway improvement efforts in the area.
