The Central Bank of Nigeria has, again, refuted the Press Release stating the recirculation of the old 500 and 100 Naira note as shared by President Buhari’s wife, Aishat Buhari, earlier today.
The apex bank had taken to its Twitter handle to debunk the claim while warning members of the public to be wary of fake news.
In a now deleted post on her Instagram handle, Aishat Buhari had leaked a Press Release stating a 70-days resuscitation of old 500 and 1000 Naira into circulation alongside the old 200 Naira note.
While the controversy still lingers on, the apex bank is set to face the Supreme Court tomorrow in a lawsuit filed against it by a faction of State government over the Naira Redesign Policy.
