By Exclusive! EFCC Raids Lakers County Club in Ikorodu, Over 100 Patrons’ Still Missing
The whereabouts of over 100 revellers and patrons arrested at Lakers County Club located at No 29, Ebute-Igbogbo Road, Ikorodu, Lagos, Nigeria is presently unknown.
An eyewitness who narrated what transpired at the club late yesterday up to the early hours of this morning said armed officers of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigerian Police invaded the club at around 10 pm and forced everyone present to face the floor.
“Everyone in the club was told to lay face down with no exception, they were very aggressive, kicking and slapping clubbers into shape.

“The EFCC officers numbering about 40 themselves collected our phones while checking through our personal files. After a while, those with verifiable Identification Cards were told to step aside but not allowed to leave the club till 4 am this morning when over 100 clubbers were bundled into 6 Hilux trucks and taken to an unknown destination”, the eyewitness told BlackBox Nigeria.
It will be recalled that around this same period in 2019, men of the Anti-Cultism Unit of the Lagos State Police Command, had invaded the same premises and seized from its customers and workers valuables worth several millions of naira.
Another eyewitness who was there with her husband and friends narrated that the officer who addressed them said they were after internet fraud kingpins who use the club as hideout.
“The officer told us to be wary of places we visit as couples in Ikorodu, that the Lakers club is not a place to relax in Ikorodu because it is the hideout of internet fraudsters. He told them they were there on intelligence to arrest some yahoo-yahoo boys known to be major revellers in the club, ” she said.
As at the time of putting up this report, the management of Lakers County has not made any official pronouncement on the raid.
BlackBox Nigeria further gathered that the popular night club incurred a huge loss yesterday as none of those arrested in the raid nor those left behind paid for the drinks and services enjoyed yesterday.
