In a troubling incident, Musa Dauda, a former member of the Boko Haram group, has been taken into custody for the alleged murder of his ex-wife, Hafsat Musa.

It was gathered that this tragic event unfolded at a farm near the Muhammed Goni stadium in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State.

The distressing discovery was made when Hafsat’s family found her lifeless body on the farm, which had been concealed.

They promptly alerted the police, and ASP Sani Kamilu, the spokesperson for the Borno Command, shared these grim details on Friday.

According to Kamilu, Dauda had asked Hafsat to meet him at her farm on September 12th.

However, after this meeting, Hafsat went missing, causing great concern among her family.

It wasn’t until a few days later that the police were informed of her disappearance and the discovery of her decomposing body on the farm.

“The case was not reported to the police until a few days later when the decomposing body of Hafsat was discovered on the farm by her relatives,’’ Kamilu said.

The police acted swiftly, visiting the scene and transferring Hafsat’s remains to the Umaru Shehu Ultramodern Hospital in Maiduguri for an autopsy.

Dauda was apprehended on September 21st and reportedly confessed to the crime.

He claimed that he had seen Hafsat with another person on the farm, and in a tragic turn of events, he struck her on the head with a hoe, causing her to collapse and lose her life.

After burying Hafsat on the farm, Dauda fled the scene. The police have assured that a thorough investigation will take place, and Dauda will face legal proceedings for this heartbreaking incident.
