Everything you should know about Lagos Youth Awards

On Boxing Day, December 26, the prestigious Sheraton Hotel, Lagos will play host to the debut edition of the Lagos Youth Awards (LYA 2021).

Here’s everything you need to know about the much-anticipated event.

1. It is an initiative of BBN360, a thriving media company based in Lagos, Nigeria, in collaboration with some youth-based non-profit organizations.

2. The Lagos Youth Awards will be celebrating 15 outstanding young people drawn from different sectors.

3. The categories include Legal Practice, Health, Media, Agriculture, Public Service, Governance, Tech, Entertainment, Advocacy, Entrepreneurship, Arts/Literature, and Sports, and the coveted “Young Person of the Year”.

4. This year’s theme tagged ‘The Working Tribe’ focuses on hardworking young persons who have through a dent of consistent hard work created a niche for themselves in the centre of excellence, Lagos State.

5. Nigerian skit maker and activist, Debo Adedayo, better known as Mr Macaroni, topped the list with three nominations, while football star and FC Barcelona Femeni forward, Asisat Oshoala bagged two nominations.

6. Award-winning broadcaster and “Your View” anchor, Morayo Afolabi-Brown will be delivering the keynote address at the event.
