Enyimba appoint ex-Eagles player, Finidi George, as new manager

Nigeria Professional Football League club, Eyinmba FC, have officially unveiled former Nigeria international, Finidi George, as their new head coach.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Aba-based football club, confirmed George’s appointment.

The former Ajax and Real Betis winger signed a two-year contract with the People’s Elephant, replacing Fatai Osho whose contract expired at the end of August.

Considered a Super Eagles legend, George was a key member of the glorious era that won the Africa Cup of Nations in 1994 and represented the country at the 1994 and 1998 FIFA World Cups.

He had an impressive career with Nigeria’s men’s senior national team, making 62 appearances in 15 years.

Meanwhile, eight-time Nigerian champions Enyinba finished second in the 2020/2021 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

George’s first game as the team’s head coach will be against Senegalese side, Diambers FC, in the CAF Confederation Cup second preliminary round fixture billed for October.
