Eniola ‘Wake-Up’ Adeyemi formally declares for Ikorodu Constituency I LAHA seat, promises purposeful representation

A young entrepreneur and politician, Prince Eniola Adeyemi, popularly known as Wake-Up, has formally declared his intention to represent the people of Ikorodu Constituency I at the Lagos State House of Assembly in the 2023 elections.

Adeyemi, the son of a strong chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikorodu Division, late Chief Segun Adeyemi Wake-Up, held his official declaration event at his father’s house in the Ojomu area of Ikorodu, on Tuesday.

Formally announcing his bid, the leading youth aspirant stated that he intends to bring fresh and innovative ideas into legislation and governance “to direct Ikorodu’s path to greatness and strategic repositioning”.

He highlighted his representative agenda to include five major pillars — poverty alleviation, youth empowerment/engagement, educational support/assistance, care for children, partnership with NGOs to support the elderly and needy, and infrastructural development.

“As a resolve, we have embraced a new approach to representation, and that is why am venturing fully into the political scene to represent the largest voice in the state, to use our power, ability, capacity and capability to bring sustainable development into our social, economic and political order, and deviate from the culture of frivolous gifts as dividends of democracy,” the politician noted.

Speaking further, Adeyemi said his background in the world of business had provided him with useful contacts that would come handy in empowering the youths of Ikorodu in areas of innovative and entrepreneurship skills.

When asked by our correspondent about his legislative plans, he spoke about introducing a Creative Industry Bill whose aim is to drive government intervention and investment into the creative industry to help young creatives, adding he has designed several other bills to address all fractions of the society.

The aspirant finally solicited for the support, cooperation and votes of all party delegates at the forthcoming primary election.

“A vote for me is a vote for you, your children and the unborn generations. No amount of money or incentive is worth sacrificing our future. I cannot do it alone, that’s why I am appealing to you to support me on this journey,” he said.
