English Premier League Week 10 Preview

MANCHESTER UNITED VS TOTTENHAM

Jose Mourinho is still haunted by that shock loss to Huddersfield. One that has seen the portuguese continously tear into his players this week.

Still fuming, he’s challenged them to beat Tottenham on Saturday.

United bounced back with a victory over Swansea in the Carabao Cup but Mourinho wants them to make up for the upset by beatingtheir title rivals at Old Trafford on Saturday.

The two clubs are level on 20 points, five behind leaders Manchester City, and United can ill afford to let Pep Guardiola’s side move any further ahead.

Mourinho received a boost ahead of the game. Eric Bailly took part in the training session, as did Phil Jones.

But the injury blow is on Tottenham. How do they cope without their injured star forward, Harry Kane?

Kane has scored 13 goals in 12 appearances for Spurs this season.

Perharps, Pochettino can take consolation in the fact that Spurs were unbeaten in the seven Premier League matches Harry Kane missed last season, winning five of them.

Spurs must however, bounce back from their shamboli exit from the Carabao cup, after letting a two-goal lead slip.

MANCHESTER CITY VS WEST BROM

Leaders Manchester city seem to have ana easier task ahead. They face West Brom who have failed to win in their last eight matches.

All eyes with be on Sergio Aguero this weekend as the Argentine looks to become City’s all-time top goalscorer, but the danger man could be Leroy Sane, who has contributed three goals and four assists in his last four Premier League matches.

ARSENAL VS SWANSEA

Also on Saturday, arsenal will be hoping to continue their improved form on Saturday when they welcome Swansea City to the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal will be looking to make it five wins from five at home in the Premier League this season when they host Swansea on Saturday.

The Gunners have a perfect record at the Emirates and moved up to fifth in the table with a 5-2 win at Everton last weekend.

Arsene Wenger made 11 changes for the midweek Carabao Cup win over Norwich, and the Gunners boss suggested some of those who played, including 18-year-old Eddie Nketiah, could be involved again on Saturday.

LIVERPOOL VS HUDDERSFIELD

David Wagner faces close friend Jurgen Klopp as his Huddersfield Town side take on Liverpool at Anfield.

Philippe Coutinho is a major doubt for Liverpool as they welcome Huddersfield to Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Brazilian is carrying an abductor problem, and Jurgen Klopp said that a decision would be made on his inclusion after training on Friday.

The Reds will be looking to bounce back from a 4-1 defeat to Tottenham in the Premier League last weekend, but will face a Huddersfield side who inflicted Manchester United’s first loss of the season with a 2-1 victory in their previous game.

The Anfield clash will mark the first league meeting between the two teams since a top-flight clash in February 1972 – in which Liverpool ran out 1-0 winners.

BOURNEMOUTH VS CHELSEA

Bournemouth could again be without striker Josh King when they face Premier League champions Chelsea on Saturday.

The Norway international has been sent for a scan to determine the extent of a back problem, which has come straight after he recovered from a virus.

King has missed Bournemouth’s last two games against Stoke in the league and Middlesbrough in the Carabao Cup, both of which the Cherries have won.

Chelsea, who are nine points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City, have also won their last two games after failing to win any of the three before them.

This match marks the start of a tricky run for Chelsea, with five of their next six fixtures away from home, and their only game at Stamford Bridge coming against Manchester United.

Chelsea have won four of their five previous away games against Bournemouth in all competitions, losing the other in September 1988.

This is Bournemouth’s lowest points total (7) after nine games of a Premier League season. Last season they had collected 12 points and in 2015-16 they had eight.
