Nigerian kid comedian, Emmanuella Samuel, has won the ‘Favorite African Social Media Star’ category at the Nickelodeon’s Kid Choice Awards 2021.

The 2021 Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards recognizes fan-favourite stars across the worlds of film, television, music, sports and more. Winners of the awards were to be determined by voting.

Emmanuella, also regarded as Africa’s comedy princess, beat Ikorodu Bois, South African magician Wian Van Den Berg, Uganda’s Ghetto Kids, Kenya’s Elsa Majimbo, and Bonang Matheba from South Africa, to clinch the award.

The 10-year-old kid comedian is known for her skits on Mark Angel Comedy YouTube channel, with millions of subscribers.

Internet sensation group, Ikorodu Bois became popular for remaking, mimicking and recreating multimillion-dollar music videos, movie scenes and movie trailers using ordinary household items.

The trio is formed of brothers Muiz Sanni, 15, and Malik Sanni, 10, as well as their cousin, 13-year-old Fawas.

They went viral earlier last year after they recreated the trailer for Extraction, an action-packed Netflix movie, starring actor Chris Hemsworth, earning them an invite to the world premiere of Netflix action thriller, Extraction 2, from Russo Brothers, one of the world’s most popular film directors in Hollywood.

In October 2020, Ikorodu Bois made a virtual appearance on ‘Steve’s TV show’ hosted by seasoned American comedian and TV host, Steve Harvey.
