Elon Musk’s Tesla hits $1 trillion worth

Tesla, an American electric vehicle and clean energy company owned by business magnate Elon musk, has hit $1 trillion in worth — making it the sixth company in the history of the United States to achieve the feat.

On Monday, the company’s share recorded an increase of 12% as Hertz a car rental company, announced an order of fleet–100,000 of cars from Teslas. Accordingly, auto analyst Adam Jonas recently raised his price target on the car-dealing company to $1,200 per share.

This tremendous one-day earnings positioned Tesla just over the $1 trillion mark. Notably, after Facebook –which hit the $1 trillion spot over 9 years –Tesla is the second fatest company to hit the $1 trillion mark, reaching it just more than 12 years after its 2010 initial public offering.

Apple took the longest– 37years, followed by Microsoft–33 years, Amazon–21 years and Google– 15years.

Other trillion-dollar worth companies include Apple, the most valuable company in the world with a worth of $2.5 trillion, Microsoft, second most valuable company in the world with a worth of $2.3 trillion, Google parent Alphabet at $1.8 trillion and Amazon at $1.7 trillion.
