Elegushi’s brother, Oyekanmi joins race for Eti-Osa Reps seat

As political parties prepare for their primaries ahead of the 2023 general polls, the Secretary/Legal Adviser of the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA), Prince Oyekanmi Elegushi has declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat in Eti Osa Federal Constituency of Lagos State.

Oyekanmi, who is the younger brother of top Lagos monarch, the Elegushi of Ikate Land, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi, will jostle for the ticket of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), as his campaign posters flood different social media platforms.

BlackBox Nigeria gathered that in the coming days, the LASWA Secretary will hold a proper event to officially announce his ambition and formally join the race.

This development means Oyekanmi would be squaring up against other contenders including incumbent Ibrahim Babajide Obanikoro who is seeking a second term in the green chamber. Babajide, a son of former minister and senator, Musiliu Obanikoro, won the seat in 2019 in a keenly contested poll.

Meanwhile, the National Executive Committee of the APC had scheduled the House of Representatives primaries for Sunday, May 22.
