The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has ordered the arrest of one of its dismissed staff members, Olakunle Alex Folarin, after he appeared in a matchmaking programme hosted on Lege Miami’s social media platforms.

In a statement, the Commission said it strongly condemns Folarin’s appearance, warning the public not to associate his conduct with the EFCC.

Folarin, who was a driver at the Ibadan Zonal Directorate, was recently dismissed from the Commission for certificate forgery. The EFCC disclosed that despite his dismissal, he still retained some of the Commission’s property, including an identity card which he ought to have returned.

The Executive Chairman of the EFCC, Ola Olukoyede, directed that Folarin be arrested for being in possession of official items belonging to the Commission.

The EFCC further stressed that Folarin’s involvement in the matchmaking programme does not represent or reflect the institution in any way.
