The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has impounded a N948million aircraft which was linked with Ali modu Sherriff, a former governor of Borno State.
The aircraft was seized on Monday at the Maiduguri International Airport for an offence which has not been disclosed by the anti corruption parastatal.
According to updates, the jet, a Golfstream G650 is the most expensive of the jets belonging to the top politician. The three other aircrafts are the three Dorniers which he purchased from Aero Contractors (the three Dorniers are been leased out he {Sheriff} for charter business after he got commercial license from the NCAA, under Skybird).
The acquisition of the world’s fastest jet made him the highest owner of private jets in Nigeria after he toppled Bishop David Oyedepo. The aircraft on purchase was registered in Dubai, denying the Nigerian government taxes.
Ali Modu Sherriff, a factional Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP has been under investigation for different corruption and fund misappropriation charges.
