Drama as Oby Ezekwesili’s party endorse President Buhari 

• We may take her to court

• She was only interested in being Finance Minister

• She didn’t even have a campaign secretariat

The drama continues in the camp of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria(ACPN) following the withdrawal from the presidential race by Dr. Oby Ezekwesili. 

News reaching BlackBox Nigeria has it that the party has fired back at the former Nigerian minister saying she didn’t carry it along before withdrawing from the race while also announcing their support for President Buhari.

Discussing with the media moments ago, the chairman of the ACPN who is also Ezekwesili’s running mate, Alhaji Gani Galadima alleged that ‘Madan Due Process’ only used their platform to enrich herself and also negotiate to become Minister or Finance. 

Oby Ezekwesili has revealed earlier in her withdrawal statement that there were “disagreements within the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria on these (her decision to withdrawal) and other issues”. 

Alhaji Galadima disclosed to newsmen that a close aide of Oby had confided in him that she was only interested in the race to negotiate to become finance minister. 

“The reason for calling this press conference is to let the world know about the presidential aspiration of Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, which in actual fact, is not the truth. I have been put into confidence by one of her aide named Iyinoluwa Aboyeji that she only wanted to use the platform of the ACPN to negotiate to be Nigeria’s finance minister,” Galadima said.

He also accused Ezekwesili of not having any tangible campaign plan unlike other contesters. 

“This she does not deem fit to inform the party whose mandate she is holding. If you observe, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili is the only presidential candidate who was so militant in her campaign without any tangible thing on ground to indicate any seriousness in the prosecution of her campaign.

“No campaign secretariat, billboard or great commitment on ground to indicate any seriousness. 

The ACPN has in essence announced their support for the candidacy of President Muhammadu Buhari of the APC while withdrawing their support for Ezekwesili. 

“It is on this ground that the ACPN is withdrawing support for her presidential aspiration and endorsing the second term bid of President Muhammadu Buhari to take Nigeria to the next level.”

“We may take her to court. She was just using us to play,” Galadima concluded.
