Don’t abuse or insult APC leaders, Lagos Assembly aspirant Bolowotan warns supporters, party members

Ahead of the primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) slated for May, an aspirant for the Lagos State House of Assembly seat in Ikorodu Constituency I, Toyin Gafaar Bolowotan has warned his supporters and other party members against abusing or insulting party leaders and elders in Ikorodu Division.

In a statement on Wednesday, Bolowotan who is the Director General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, particularly condemned the insults hurled against the Apex Leader of the Ikorodu APC, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, whose son, Ogunleye Gbolahan Adetokunbo is also in the race.

The aspirant noted that Baba Ogunleye “has remained steadfast and committed to the growth of our party in Ikorodu, Lagos and indeed, Nigeria”, adding that the former Lagos State deputy governor “remains a father figure to us all irrespective of our individual interests.”

“This era is a season of politicking and we are all participants, everyone is qualified to contest. We shouldn’t have issues with people who chose to put themselves forward for elective positions like we have also done,” he said.

Bolowotan declared that he remains a loyal party member who holds the party in high regards and have respect for orderliness.

He appealed, “Please stop using abusive words in any manner on anybody, let’s put a stop to this immediately. We are APC, we are ONE!”

BlackBox Nigeria had reported that the LSSC boss, on Monday, commenced his consultative tour to wards in Ikorodu Constituency I. Within two days, he had visited Ikorodu West and Ikorodu North LCDAs where he was endorsed by ward executives and party leaders.
