Controversyal street pop musician Olalomi Oyegbile, popularly known as Portable, has claimed that he didn’t unleash his full energy during the celebrity boxing match against actor Charles Okocha.
Recall the Zazuu crooner emerged victorious after the fourth round in the high-profile clash on Wednesday, Dec 27, 2023.
The fight was to settle a monetary dispute between the duo.
But in a video shared on his Instagram page, the singer claimed that he had just completed a strenuous show performance before stepping into the ring for the much-anticipated boxing match.
Portable said his decision to hold back was influenced by his physical exhaustion from the earlier event.
“I swear to God who made me, if I hadn’t gone to the show that day, despite my stress amid a massive crowd, I was just throwing blows. The blows Charles Okocha was supposed to receive, I delivered them to the people at the show,” he said in the video.
“I was already tired before reaching Charles Okocha’s location, having performed earlier. I was under a lot of stress. If Charles Okocha had faced my full energy, he might have been seriously injured or killed by me.”
Meanwhile, Okocha had rejected the outcome of the fight, claiming that the match was manipulated and called for a rematch. But Portable, in a series of videos posted on his Instagram page, has rejected the call.
