Democracy Day: Mayor Dele Oshinowo Greets Nigerians

On the commemoration of this year’s democracy day celebration, the Executive Chairman, Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Mayor Dele Oshinowo has congratulated residents of his locality, Lagosians and Nigerians at large.

In a goodwill message that was made available to journalists today in Lagos, the council chairman noted that the successful accomplishments recorded by his administration so far underscores what democracy can bring to the table.

“Recounting the words scripted by Late Obafemi Awolowo in 1983 that “The worst civilian rule is better than the best military dictatorship.” It is obvious that Democracy gives all and sundry chances to hold political power, and enjoy political freedom and equality”.

“In view of this, I wish to extend my warm felicitations to residents of Agboyi-Ketu, Lagosians and Nigerians at large on the occasion of this year’s Democracy Day celebration in Nigeria.”

“Basking in the euphoria of the twenty-one years of uninterrupted democracy in our beloved country, it is pivotal for us as citizens to continue to pursue those ideals that would strengthen this widely accepted form of government, as it remains the best to herald development in all spheres.”

“Without democracy as a form of government, the Mayor Dele Oshinowo administration would not have come to fruition. Thus, the present success of our administration across all sectors of governance in Agboyi-Ketu is a clear testament of what the people’s choice can bring to the table.”

“As the country moves on to run a government with the full participation of her citizenry, may God Almighty continue to bless the heroes and heroines who fought for the enthronement of democracy in Nigeria.”
