Defence Research and Development Bureau, part of my efforts in transforming Nigerian military—Rep Babajimi

The Chairman, House Committee on Defense, House of Representatives, National Assembly, Abuja, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, has affirmed that the Defence Research and Development Bureau (DRDB) which has just become law, is part of his efforts in transforming the Nigerian military into a world class institution.

Benson, on Friday morning, announced on his social media handles that President Buhari has signed into the bill he sponsored into law.

Recall that the House had in July 2021, passed the bill.

Announcing its signing into a law, Rep. Benson said:

“I am delighted to announce that the President and Commander-in-Chief, Muhammadu Buhari has assented to the Defence Research and Development Bureau (DRDB) bill which I sponsored in the House ”, he wrote on his official Facebook handle.

“This bill, which is now an Act, is part of my legislative contributions towards strengthening the Armed Forces of Nigeria through innovative, robust and strategic research that will transform our military to a world class body.

“It is in line with my vision, and indeed, that of the 9th House of Representatives as reflected in our Contract with Nigerians to ensure the safety of their lives and property, irrespective of where they reside across the country”, he said.

He thanked President Buhari, the National Assembly and the Defense Committee for the support.

“I am particularly grateful to President Muhammadu Buhari for assenting to this all-important bill and to the leadership of the National Assembly. My gratitude also goes to all members of the Defence Committee for their unflinching support,” he said.

“Last but not in any way the least, I thank my people of Ikorodu Federal Constituency for the opportunity to do this. Together we can do more!
