The Labour Party has said that its candidate for the Lagos East senatorial bye-election, Florence Trautman, should be declared as the winner of the election, urging the Independent National Electoral Commission to do the needful.
In a video taken at the announcement of the election results, the Labour Party representative was seen asking the electoral umpire, INEC, to declare its candidate as the winner because they were the only party that conducted a valid primary election. He said the party had submitted petition to INEC before now.
The LP’s candidate, Chief Yeye Florence Trautman, is described as “International Female Gender Activist cum Public Speaker, an American Artiste, Film Producer and agriculturalist/Farmer”.
Recall that INEC had declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Tokunbo Abiru as the winner of the Lagos East senatorial bye-election after polling 89,204 votes. His closest rival, Babatunde Gbadamosi of the Peoples Democratic Party scored 11,251 votes.
