Nigerian popular singer, Davido is set to donate a sum of three hundred million naira to orphanages in the country.
Davido revealed this in his recent post via his X page on Tuesday.
In the post, he explained that the donation is part of his yearly contribution to humanity and the nation.
He wrote, “I and my foundation pledge the sum of 300 million Naira to orphanages around Nigeria … as my yearly contribution to the Nation ❤️.”
He therefore said that further details about the donation will be given tomorrow.
This is the third time in four years Davido will be giving out donations to orphans.
He began his tradition of yearly donations to orphanages in November 2021, which coincided with his birthday celebration.
Celebrating his 29th birthday, Davido fulfilled a promise by donating a sum of ₦250 million to orphanages across Nigeria.
In 2022, he didn’t make his donations because he faced a heartbreaking tragedy when his 3-year-old son, David Ifeanyi, passed away.
The incident occurred due to an apparent drowning at their home in Lagos.
However, on July 2023, he continued his noble tradition, donating a sum of ₦237 million to 424 orphanages across the country.
