Award winning Afrobeats superstar Davido has once again proven his generosity, purchasing five custom chess boards worth N1 million each from celebrated chess master, Tunde Onakoya.
The announcement came through an X post by Onakoya, who recently made global headlines after setting a world record for the longest chess marathon.
Sharing the update, he wrote: “Otilorrr. Davido just sent the money! So, I’ll save one set for @davido and give out the remaining 4 to his fans. I’ll pick 4 people randomly in the comment section.”
The gesture, totaling N5 million, is part of an ongoing fundraising initiative launched by Onakoya to promote chess education for underprivileged children in Nigeria.
The handcrafted boards have gained attention as many are seeing a sign of business venture from the Chess master to promote the art across the globe.
