A shake of power has erupted within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State today after President Bola Tinubu snubbed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu during the commissioning of the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway.

According to a viral video posted on social media, Tinubu shook hands with several dignitaries, including former Senate President Ahmed Lawan and governors from other states, but deliberately bypassed Sanwo-Olu, extending a handshake to Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Ododo, instead.

Meanwhile, Governor who is supposed to make a welcoming speech at the event wasn’t granted the privilege of making such due to power play between him and president Tinubu.

The incident has sparked widespread speculation about a possible rift between Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu, with many pointing to the recent controversy surrounding the impeachment and reinstatement of Mudashiru Obasa as Lagos Assembly Speaker as a possible cause of the tension.

The possible intervention of the president in the recent local government primaries in the state which saw the disqualification of Obasa’s son also added fuel to the fire.

The development is likely to have far-reaching implications for the APC’s political structure in Lagos, with many wondering about the future of the party’s leadership and dynamics in the state.

As the news spreads, stakeholders and observers are eagerly awaiting reactions from both the Presidency and the Lagos State government.
