COVID-19: Ministers donate 50% of their March salaries, as NCDC confirms 89 in Nigeria

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed , on Saturday said 43 Ministers have donated 50% of their March 2020 salaries to support the Federal Government in combating the novel COVID-19 pandemic.

This was confirmed in a statement by Lai Mohammed, where he stated that the Minister of State for Transportation, Senator Gbemisola Saraki will coordinate the donations.

Since the first recorded case of the novel coronavirus in China, Nigeria has recorded 89 cases of the disease.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control via its Twitter handle said “As of 04: 00pm 28th of March, there are 89 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria, with one dead.

“For a breakdown of the cases by states in real time, Lagos currently has 59 cases, FCT-3, Ekiti-1, Oyo-3, Edo-2, Bauchi-2, Osun-1, Rivers-1, Enugu-2, and Benue-1.”
