Justice Mobolaji Olajuwon of the Federal High Court, Abuja has forfeited the two properties and two cars of Former Minister of Petroleum resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke.
According to reports, the properties are situated at Plot 1854, Mohammed Mahasagar Street, and No. 6, Aso Dire in Asokoro and Maitama Districts, Abuja respectively.
She forfeited the properties based on the ruling of the application filed by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC in suit No. 1122/2022 and asked that assets be forfeited the last time.
The Commission had on November 29, 2021 secured interim forfeiture on the assets ruling on different motion as filed on September 27, 2021, beseeching the court to order interim forfeiture of the assets inviting a with interest in the assets to show cause why they should not be finally forfeited to the Federal Government of Nigeria.
The court therefore adjourned the case till January 22, 2022.
