The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja, on Thursday discharged and upheld the appeal of the detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.

Recall that Kanu is being prosecuted by the Federal Government at the Federal High Court in Abuja for 15 count charges bordering on treasonable felony, terrorism, and offences he allegedly committed in the course of his separatist campaigns.

A three-man panel of the Court of Appeal however said the Federal High Court lacks the jurisdiction to try him given his abduction and extraordinary rendition to Nigeria in flagrant violation of the OAU convention and protocol on extradition.

Following the IPOB leader’s release, Nigerians have reacted and termed it to be another form of playing politics.

A tweet from @Oladayofash said this is why they released him, they need the noise of no election in Biafraland now more than ever.

Another user @IheakaD said it is APC strategy

In his reaction @BigbrainEni revealed that You do not know the game, Any killing in the east would be linked to Biafra now and Biafra would be linked to PETER OBI and Nnadi Kanu declaring support for Peter Obi will kill Obi’s chance of winning where Nnamdi kanu not declaring support will also mean he’s supporting Biafra.

A twitter user @FolorunshoSE said the same thing too,Releasing him now, there is an agenda at play.
