The blast, which occurred near the densely populated Nyanya suburb, trapped commuters and drivers returning from work, exacerbating the number of possible casualties. The crash resulted in a tragic multiple-vehicle crash, resulting in the loss of six lives and leaving 25 others injured,” said Olusegun Ogungbemide, Corps Public Education Officer of the FRSC.

The cause of the explosion is still under investigation, but eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic, with several vehicles engulfed in flames.
