Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle has reached an agreement with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on a new contract following a high-level meeting in Abuja.
The meeting, held on Tuesday at the National Sports Commission (NSC) headquarters, was attended by NSC Chairman Shehu Dikko, NSC Director-General Bukola Olopade, NFF President Ibrahim Gusau, NFF General Secretary Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, and Chelle.
Under the new agreement, Chelle’s monthly salary will increase from $45,000 to $100,000. The deal also provides for the payment of his coaching assistants by the NFF.
The 48-year-old Malian tactician was appointed head coach of the Super Eagles in January 2025 and led Nigeria to a third-place finish at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The agreement is expected to strengthen Chelle’s position as he continues preparations for upcoming international assignments with the national team.
