Prof. Peter Okebukola, a former executive secretary of National Universities Commission (NUC), has applauded President Muhammadu Buhari for Prof Ishaq Oloyede’s reappointment as the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
In a statement on Sunday, Okebukola who is also the chairman of the governing board of National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) commended Oloyede on his achievements in the last five years.
He noted that Buhari’s reappointment of Ishaq Oloyede and Prof Abubabakar Adamu as JAMB Registrar and Executive Secretary of NUC respectively, was because he had the progress of Nigeria’s educational growth in mind as Oloyede had done a great job in his first five years.
Prof Ishaq Oloyede introduced several ongoing innovations such as Central admission processing system (CAPS) for the automation of admission process, CCTV cameras in CBT centres to monitor exams in order to avoid cheating as well as the conduction ot universal tertiary matriculation examination for blind candidates, amongst many other achievements.
