Breaking! Federal Government Suspends Magu As EFCC Boss

 

Unconfirmed reports from Abuja has it that the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu has been suspended.

Magu’s suspension is coming a day after he was summoned by the Presidential Task Force on Corruption on a petition relating to sales of seized assets by the anti-graft agency.

The summon caused an uproar on the social media as details of the event was sketchy as some section of the media suggested that he was arrested by the Secret Service. Records were later set straight that the invitation was served to Magu as he was on his way to Force Headquarters for a scheduled meeting.

Magu after receiving the invitation was taken to the Presidential Villa in Aso Rock where the Presidential Committee was holding the meeting. Reports has it that he went into interrogation till late Monday night and was detained till Tuesday morning.

Also, the summon was suggested to be as a result of a petition written to the Presidential Committee by the Attorney General of the Federal, Justice Abubakar Malami, SAN where Magu was fingered for corruption.
