BREAKING: One Dies in Ojota as OPC, Yoruba Nation Agitators’ Clash

 

There is currently a commotion in Ojota area of Lagos State as the police have reportedly clashed with agitators of the Yoruba nation while atleast one death has been recorded BlackBox Nigeria has learnt.
The dead man who is yet to be identified is believed to be part of the agitators.

Unconfirmed reports claim trouble initially started when the agitators were challenged by members of the Odua Peoples Congress, which led to many fleeing for their lives. The Police were later mobilized to the spot and in a bid to disperse the agitators and other factions shot into the air. A stray bullet is reported to have hit one of the agitators which killed him on the spot.

This development further infuriated the protesters who are pushing for for a Yoruba Nation.

In one of the videos surfacing online, one man who appeared to be the leader of the agitators is seen vowing to destroy a police vehicle while also threatening to burn the police station in Ojota.
Also, a vehicle believed to belong to the police was then set ablaze.

While the Police is yet to make a statement, motorists and other road users are advised to be careful.

According to a video seen by BLACKBOXNIGERIA, two groups suspected to be Oduduwa Peoples Congress (OPC) and Yoruba Nation agitators, clashed in the early hours of Monday 9, January, resulting in one casualty.

The police have arrived the scene and shot teargas to disperse the crowd.

“Ojota is up in smoke,” according to the video.

“Police are shooting teargas, and one person is dead. There was a clash between OPC and Yoruba Nation.”
