Nigeria played against Lesotho in a FIFA World Cup Qualifying – Caf game on Thursday. The match ended in a draw with both teams scoring one goal each .
The match was held at Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo Akwa Ibom state as it started at 5pm .
Semi Ajayi scored for Nigeria while Motlomelo Mkwanazi scored for Lesotho at 67 minutes and 56 minutes respectively.
Having missed out on the World Cup party in Qatar last year, the Super Eagles are keen to stage a return for the 2026 edition to be co-hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
Rwanda and Zimbabwe also played a draw on Wednesday as Group C kicked off in Rwanda
The 10 match qualifying series would stretch over the next 47 months as the winners would be able return for the 2026 edition.
