Breaking! Nationwide strike suspended as Labour Union compromises

NEWS reaching BlackBox Nigeria has it that the organised labour have called for the suspension of the strike action planned for today.
The organised labour union had earlier called for a nationwide strike to push home their call for an upward review of the minimum wage.
BBN has learned that the strike has now been suspended following last minute efforts on the part of government representatives.
Chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress, Comrade Ayuba Wabba made the announcement following a late meeting of the tripartite committee set up to come up with the new minimum wage. The meeting ran into the night yesterday.
The Labour union boss further disclosed that the decision to suspend the strike was arrived at after agreements were reached with the appropriate quarters. He also revealed that necessary documents were signed to avoid future denial.
“Having reached this position and agreements signed, the proposed strike action is hereby suspended,” Comrade Wabba said.
