Bomb Explosions Rocks Akure, Leave Scores With Injuries, Destroy Buildings
Reports from Akure has it that scores has been left with injuries and buildings brought down after a suspected bomb explosion went early Saturday morning.
According to a report by IrohinOodua, the supposed bomb went off about 1am on Saturday March 28th in Eleyowo community and shook the entire State capital. It was gathered scores of people were injured by the incident as several buildings were destroyed.
Among the buildings that was affected as the Church of Possibility, which is said to be the biggest Church in Ondo State. An official of the Church who spoke to the press on the condition of anonymity disclosed that they don’t believe the explosion was accidental as it brought down the church to crumbles as occupants of the church premises were secured different degrees of injuries. Also, a school in the area was destroyed by the explosion.
The explosion occurred at about 1km away from the Akure Airport and divided the ever busy Akure/Owo Road.
As at the time of filing this report, the cause of the explosion is yet to be confirmed.
