Suspected Boko Haram insurgents, Monday, attacked Dapchi, the headquarters of Bursari Local government, Yobe.
The insurgents reportedly set ablaze the palace of Dapchi District head.
A credible source, while confirming the incident, stated that He the insurgents forced many shops opened and carted away food and other items.
“insurgents stormed the town around 6:00pm while residents-majority Muslim faithfuls were preparing to break their Ramadan fast.
“The insurgents shot sporadically but the shooting later subside.
“But as I speak to you now heavy gunshots were heard from all angles of the town which I believe to be an encounter between the insurgents and the troops.” The source said.
