A frontline politician in Nigeria, Mr Babatunde Olalere Gbadamosi has tasked the major players in the Nigerian socio-economic space to unite in fighting the deadly coronavirus tagged COVID19.

In a statement made available to BlackBox Nigeria, Gbadamosi stressed the need for the business community in Nigeria to take responsibility and donate generously towards efforts to fight the virus.

“If we pool our resources, we may yet have a country to banter about at the end of this. I personally think our focus should be on preventing infection through hygiene and nutrition.

“A giant pool of masks, gloves, goggles, Vitamin C supplements and hand sanitisers needs to enter Nigeria STAT, ” BOG wrote in his post.

He suggested that Nigeria based airlines like Air Peace, Arik Air and others can help with flying into the country the aforementioned preventive materials.

He also charged pharmaceutical companies like Emzor Pharmaceuticals and other local pharmaceutical companies to help with supplement production for poor people to benefit.

While challenging banks like Guaranty Trust Bank, Zenith Bank, Sterling Bank, FCMB and other high volume service providers like DSTV, MTN, Glo, Airtel to step up their contributions to the virus containment.

“We must prepare to provide a minimum of 2b masks, sanitisers & gloves. Vitamin C supplement production and import through credible sources must be ramped up – Med Plus Pharmacy & others can play a big role here.

Fresh Fruit production & distribution must be looked into urgently, so nothing is wasted.

The aim of this initiative is for those of us who can afford to contribute to do so in order to give the most vulnerable in society – the poor – a fighting chance, ” BOG wrote.
