By BBNaija Season 5 Lockdown Records Over 900m Votes – Multichoice CEO, John Ugbe Reveals
It is a record breaking season at Big Brother Naija as over 900m votes were recorded for the season, making it the highest so far in the history of the reality TV show.
This was disclosed by John Ugbe, the Chief Executive Officer of Multichoice Nigeria at the presentation of grand prize to the season winner, Laycon.
Mr Ugbe added that all votes recorded cuts across all the platforms engaged for the voting process which included votes via the app, web and SMS. He also added that a minimum of N3.5bn was expended on packaging the show which is in its 5th season.
In addition, he disclosed that over the years, organisers of the show have engaged and employed tens of thousands of Nigerians across different sectors which includes creatives, fashion designers, tasks coordinators, structural engineers, among other professionals.
The award presentation ceremony has in attendance Chris Ubosi, the local director of Betway Nigeria, Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu, Channel Director of Multichoice Nigeria and a Director from Guiness Nigeria and anchored by Nigeria’s most sought after show host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.
