The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State has suspended its chairman, Babayo Aliyu Misau, over alleged anti-party activities during the March 18 governorship election.

His suspension was announced at a press conference jointly held by the executives of his ward, Kukadu Gundari in Misau local government area of Bauchi State.

The conference was led by the ward chairman, Ibrahim Zango Lawan, who alleged that Alhaji Misau voted for another governorship candidate during the governorship and state assembly elections in the state.

They insisted that the chairman was indefinitely suspended as a result of his violation of the party’s constitution and abuse of his office as a chairman in the state chapter.

Speaking at the conference, Aliyu Hassan Adamu, the ward secretary, said other offenses committed by Alhaji Misau include displaying his ballot papers during the governorship and state house of assembly elections, where he did not vote for the APC in the governorship ballot paper.

Misau’s suspension is coming barely 24 hours after the executives of the party in Gamawa Ward of Gamawa LG of the state suspended the National Ex-Official of the party, Sirajo Dada, for alleged hoarding of resources meant to be used for the party’s governorship candidates campaign.

Responding, Babayo Aliyu Misau said he remains the legitimate chairman of the APC in Bauchi State, arguing that his suspension was a null campaign against his popularity among faithfuls of the party in the state.

“I will not resign. Are they the ones who voted me in? I don’t want a long argument, please! Forget about them,” he said.
