In an effort to bolster their attacking threat, Barcelona have reportedly reached an agreement with Manchester City for a potential January signing of 21-year-old winger, Ferran Torres.

The Blaugrana had been dealt a great blow up front as good number of their forwards are currently on the sideline. Alongside Sergio Aguero who is currently battling with career-threatening injury, the likes of Martin Braithwaithe, Ousmane Dembele, and Ansu Fati are all out injured. The injury crisis had left Memphis Depay saddled with much responsibility.

Having signed Xavi to be in charge of the Barcelona squad, the former midfielder has begun his renovation plan and has expressed his intent to shake up the squad. Before the start of the start of the season, there were controversies and rumours over a possible transfer of Raheem Sterling from Man City to Barcelona. However, the deal failed to materialize during the summer transfer.

Barcelona have, however proven, to be on Man City’s radar as they move in for Ferran Torres. The Valencia academy graduate has been in an impressive form for Pep Guardiola’s side. He has featured 43 times for Man City, scoring in 16 occasions while providing four assists for teammates.

Though currently out injured, Ferran Torres’ agent was reportedly seen in Barcelona last week Tuesday to discuss a potential transfer. His visit was followed by another discussion with Barcelona’s Sporting Director, Mateu Alemany, who came down to Manchester for further talks.

Aside Ferran Torres, Barcelona had been linked to a couple of transfers over the past months. The likes of Erling Haaland, Renato Sanchez, and Jesse Lingard were reportedly on the Catalan giants’ radar. Despite facing financial turmoil, Barcelona were able to secure the service of the likes of Emerson De Royal, Memphis Depay, Luuk De Jong, and Sergio Aguero.
